Pittsburgh is a city of sports fans so it was very important to include the community in the design of the Consol Energy Center. The Penguins brought on fathom to identify the qualities of hockey that resonated most with their fans, arena employees and youth hockey players. Thanks to their findings, which informed the overall design, we can see the themes of purity, energy and connection come alive in the new arena.
